A rotary kiln refers to a rotating calcining kiln (commonly known as a rotary kiln), belonging to the building materials equipment category. Rotary kilns can be classified into cement kilns, metallurgical and chemical kilns, and lime kilns according to the materials they process.
Cement kilns are mainly used for calcining cement clinker, and are divided into two main categories: dry-process cement kilns and wet-process cement kilns. Metallurgical and chemical kilns are mainly used in the metallurgical industry for magnetizing and roasting lean iron ore in steel plants; oxidizing and roasting chromium and nickel iron ore; roasting high-alumina vanadium ore in refractory material plants and roasting clinker and aluminum hydroxide in aluminum plants; and roasting chromite sand and chromite powder in chemical plants.
Lime kilns (i.e., active lime kilns) are used for roasting active lime and lightly calcined dolomite for steel plants and ferroalloy plants.

The kiln shell is made of high-quality killed steel plate, rolled and welded. The shell is supported by a 2-7 set sliding bearing support device via a tire, and one or more of these support devices are equipped with mechanical or hydraulic thrust rollers, allowing customers to flexibly control the axial movement of the shell.
The transmission device uses a gear ring located in the middle of the shell to rotate it at the required speed.
Larger kilns are equipped with an auxiliary transmission device that allows the shell to rotate at very low speeds, meeting installation and maintenance needs.
To prevent cold air from entering and flue gas and dust from overflowing from the shell, reliable kiln tail and kiln head sealing devices are installed at the feed end (tail) and discharge end (head) of the shell.
